The 2007 UA Fort Smith National Brass Academy for high school and
college brass students was a great success. Highlights of the Brass Academy were:
- Over 90% of our students were award-winning All-State students.
- Over 1,000 concertgoers attended the week’s concerts during the Brass Academy.
- Concerts included performances by international trumpet soloist Vince
DiMartino, the River Valley Community Band under the direction of Chuck
Booker, student brass choir and chamber groups, and the Apex Brass.
- Sponsors of the 2007 Brass Academy included: Arvest Bank, Yamaha International
Corporation, Sigler Music, Saeid Music, Cavanaugh Pizza, Mazzio’s Pizza, and
Bedford Camera & Video.
- Students from ten different states, seven different universities, and fifteen school
districts attended the camp June 24-30.
